Discussion: should Black people/POC go to primarily white salons/barbershops?

In my opinion, a good hairstylist should be able to work on any type of hair.

Personally, whether or not someone is skilled to work with all textures, I'd rather have a Black or POC do my hair because they know firsthand how to work with it. In no way, shape or form am I discriminating but I'd feel more comfortable with someone who has hair like mine, to do my own hair.

I'm doing all this talk but I've never actually been to a hair salon, lol. When I was younger, my mom or aunt did my hair; now I do it myself. I haven't had any need to go to a salon but we'll see what the future holds.
