Protective style summer, turned protective style fall?

Being that B's Kinks and Curls is a natural hair blog, I've been feeling a bit contradictory with all of my protective styles. Y'all have been on this journey with me but does it make sense?

If you don't already know, this summer (2021), I randomly decided to have a #protectivestylesummer. Since going natural in 2015, I'd done two protective styles in the span of four years - braids and locs. When my friend did my braids in May and I got a taste of not doing my hair, I ran with it. chile.

I think that since I haven't left my hair alone for this long, in so long, it felt amazing to have a break!

Going back to what I said before, it feels contradictory for me to be running a natural hair blog while my natural hair is not "out" right now. On the other hand, I think that a #protectivestylesummer is great series to do yearly. What do y'all think?

I've gotten so used to not doing my hair that I might turn this summer thing into a #protectivestylefall. My hair has been thriving; the growth and thickness of my hair really makes me happy and able to actually track my growth. I always feel like my hair barely grows but after taking these styles out, I'm just like, okay 👀

Speaking of a #protectivestylefall, as I type this late at night, I already have my new style done! Stay tuned to see the result :)

QOTW: Have you ever been over doing your hair for a period of time?

Also, what do you think of turning this into a #protectivestylefall? Let me know!

Until next week, xx
