Rockland, I think we won with this one.
I recently went to Sombrero Tacoria located at The Shops of Nanuet, across the store Lush, I met up with some friends there because we wanted to try the restaurant's birria tacos.
As soon as I entered the restaurant, I noted its cleanliness; the tables, the floor and even the bathroom were in tip-top shape. The setup of the station is like Moe's, if you've ever been, but the taco isn't made in front of you, an employee brings it to your table. When we went up to order, the cashier was so kind and welcoming and had the type of attitude that makes customers feel at home. The menu up top was big and clear enough for anyone to read; we were also given physical menus to take a look at.
Naturally, when you plan to go out to eat, you go on an empty stomach - which we all did. After placing our orders, I would say we waited for about 15 minutes before our food was brought to us. I was impressed at the fast service! The food looked so incredibly good that we were salivating before we even took a bite.
That first bite? Heavenly. The meat was well cooked and seasoned, the shells were cooked to perfection and don't even get me started on the cheese - I love cheese! I wasn't sure what to expect with the broth but it did not disappoint either. I actually brought the rest of it home with me!
There was a pina-mango drink I got (that I'm upset I didn't take a picture of!) that was so refreshing. It genuinely tasted like someone went in the back, took the fruit and hand squeezed them into a cup. I was very much impressed.
Out of the four of us, only one of my friends got something other than birria tacos; she ordered a quesadilla. Like us, she had nothing but good things to say about her order.
I 10/10 recommend people to visit Sombrero Tacoria! My friends and I are already talking about our next visit there.
