After reading about how heat can possibly damage your curls, I've stayed far away from it for years. This fear of damaging my curls is also what kept me from dyeing my hair. I've worked so hard for my hair to get this far, trying different routines and what not, so I am not about to let my efforts go to waste. Scrolling through YouTube and watching natural hair videos made me change my mind on using heat. I've seen countless videos where people use it to stretch their hair out.
At the time, I didn't have a heat protectant so I was already taking a risk, but go big or go home, right?
First off, let me just say kudos to those who blow-dry often because hunty, it's a workout! My arms were tired and my thumb hurt from holding on to the "cool" button for so long.
In the end, I was shocked at how much my hair grew - shrinkage is REAL.
I was in looooveee with my stretched but was still scared that I messed up my curls, lol. It felt weird to not see my poppin curls but I did enjoy the new look.
Will I blow-dry more often? Most likely not but it's definitely something I'll do 2-3x a year.
QOTW: How often do you blow-dry your hair? Have you gotten any damage?
Until next week, xx
