I’ve said tons of times that natural hair is pretty fragile. After dyeing my hair repeatedly, I have to wonder if we underestimate the strength of our hair.
I first dyed my hair in September of 2019 and just kept taking risks after that.
Each time I dyed my hair, there was solething that I didn’t like about my new look…so I kept coloring it until I got what I wanted. I’d NEVER advise anyone to do what I did, lol. Each time I applied the dye, I risked frying the hell out of my hair.
I, thankfully, did all of this and got no damage. I once read somewhere that coarser hair is stronger and able to take certain things that a looser texture would. Let’s just say that may be 100% correct because my kinky hair was able to go blonde multiple times, and, recently, red. Yeah, I know…you don’t need to tell me...*backs away in shame*
With my experience, it leads me to wonder how strong our hair really is. Was I just lucky? Or would someone else with kinky hair have their hair break off? Would a looser textured person‘s hair be damaged?
Let’s discuss.
Until next week, xx
